I know many of you are carrying heavy hearts over our country’s future, and I’m telling you now and I’ll never say it again – you’ve gotta let it go and live an excellent life no matter who is president, and you have to do what you can to make it a peaceable place. Don’t carry your angst to whosever Thanksgiving table where you will be dining this week. Be your best self and do something nice and be grateful for what you have in your life.
My book group met last week and the discussion inevitably turned to the election, a topic we had all beaten the fun out of a long time ago. Everybody everywhere still likes to rehash it, but one of our ladies instead of getting jacked up, has made a pledge over the next four years to do something each month for one of the groups she feels has been disenfranchised. Is that brilliant or what? I love this because she’s actually doing something positive whether it’s a donation, a card or letter, a volunteer spot – I don’t know, but I’m certain she’ll come up with some fabulous Nice Acts.
It’s not good for your heart and soul to dwell on things that upset you, and I’m calling you to join the Andrea Movement of Nice Acts and do something kind to make a positive difference. You’ll sleep better when you’re not grinding your teeth, and so will the people who received your kindnesses. Can you imagine what could happen if all of us gave it a shot? Live your excellent life and do something kind. Let me know how it goes.
